Globed was founded in Istanbul in 2012 with the aim of introducing award-winning online resources to the educational institutions in the region.

In addition to private, public and international schools and universities in Turkey; we now serve over 1 million active users, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Romania from our offices in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir and Dubai.

For the past 11 years, we have been sharing our expertise with educational institutions to ensure successful integrations of digital resources into existing curricula by providing year-long support to our users.

Esat Uğurlu is an entrepreneur, investor and mentor in the EdTech field with more than 15 years of experience and the founder of Globed E-learning and Okuvaryum digital content and academic services companies.

Following his education at Tarsus American College and Brandeis University, he started his career in Cambridge Massachusetts, by introducing SecondLife.com projects to Fortune500 companies. He then continued his career in various positions in e-learning at UNESCO Bangkok and iGroup Asia-Pacific. The services and academic content of Globed and Okuvaryum reach more than a million active users in four different countries.

Esat, married and a proud father of a daughter, is also an animal rights advocate, a TEDx speaker, and a cross-country motorcycle rally racer.

After graduating from Tarsus American College in 2002, Onur completed his degree in Economics at Koç University in 2006. In 2008, he completed a Master's program in Economics at Bocconi University in Italy. While continuing his career, he completed his last degree in Financial Engineering at Özyeğin University in 2015. Onur began his career in 2007 as a Treasury Specialist at UBS Bank in Switzerland, and in the following years, he worked as a Treasurer in various domestic and international banks. He has been serving as the CFO at Globed since 2017.

After graduating from Sankt Georg’s Austrian High School, Oğuz went on to study business management in German at Marmara University. Upon his graduation in 2011, he took an international position in Frankfurt, Germany. 2 years later, Oğuz moved back to Turkey and joined the GLOBED team. As part of his role as the Vice President, he has been working closely with the engineering and academic divisions of numerous educational companies from around the world, aiming to bridge the gap between international software developers and educators in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Romania.

A member of the European Aroid Society, Oğuz runs a personal velvet-leaf anthurium breeding program and works on semi-hydro culture methods in his extra-curricular time.

With over nine years of experience in the E-Learning sector, Murat Yıldırım continues his role as Vice Principal in the United Arab Emirates at Globed E-Learning. Graduating from Tarsus American College with an IB Diploma and subsequently completing his degree in Management Information Systems at Bilgi University, Murat began his professional career at Globed’s Istanbul branch in 2014. As of 2024, together with his team, he continues to provide top-quality services to private educational institutions in the region with award-winning, future-ready educational resources targeting various disciplines. By analyzing market needs at the highest level, he aims to establish trustworthy relationships by providing existing and potential clients with the academic support they need and by prioritizing students’ academic and career goals, contributing to Globed’s sustainable growth in the region.

Can Yücel is an accomplished E-Learning specialist with over 8 years of expertise in the industry. He currently serves as the Managing Director at Globed E-Learning, where he leads with a dynamic approach and a proven track record in sales, account management, and customer relations. Prior to his current role, Can served as the Vice President for 4 years, contributing significantly to the company's growth and success. Can graduated from Tarsus American College and pursued higher education in Business Economics at İstanbul Bilgi University. He further enhanced his skills by completing a Certificate Programme in Proactive Sales at Sabancı University. With extensive experience in managing sales teams, fostering client relationships, and strategic planning, Can has played a key role in the company's growth.

After earning a degree in English Language and Literature and a teaching certificate, she pursued a master’s in Educational Technologies. She began her career teaching at a major Turkish school, eventually becoming the coordinator and regional manager for English teachers in kindergarten and primary grades. Now, as Vice President of the Globed Academic Services Team, she collaborates with schools and teachers in Turkey, UAE, Qatar, and Romania. She is also an active speaker at ELT events and provides on-demand training and professional learning sessions. She is also a certified mindfulness practitioner and an experienced diver.

Emre graduated from the Science Education Department of Marmara University in 2013 and began his career in the game development department of a software company. Joining the Globed team in 2014, Emre worked in sales and academic support, and since 2017, he has taken on the role of Director, overseeing operational processes. Emre has expertise in developing e-learning curricula, gamification, supply chain management, inventory management, and the use of CRM and ERP systems. He is also an avid fan of Manga and Anime, as well as a Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz dancer.
